ABC Sing, Sign & Play

Nursery sessions – speech, language and communication groups

We are bringing our communication, language and literacy expertise into nursery settings across the UK. All of our Speech & Language Therapists are experts at hand to pop up in your nursery to sing, sign and play.

Fun for children and valuable for their communication development.

Sing, Sign & Play combines songs, signing, movement, actions and play with expert speech and language strategies to support children’s communication development in a fun, engaging and memorable way.

Created and delivered by experts, our sessions give children lots of opportunities to listen, interact, join in, communicate and have fun – while supporting the development of important communication and language skills.

Supporting children and empowering practitioners

Our Sing, Sign & Play sessions don’t just benefit the children – they give nursery practitioners the opportunity to develop their own communication-supporting skills too.

Each week, practitioners learn bite-sized, practical strategies from their Speech and Language Therapist, giving them the knowledge and confidence to support communication throughout the nursery day.

Through regular weekly sessions, staff can gradually build on their skills and learn what to use, how to use it and, importantly, how to incorporate it naturally into everyday routines, play and interactions.

This means the impact goes beyond the session itself. Staff can take the songs, signs, vocabulary and communication strategies into their everyday practice, creating more opportunities for children to listen, understand, communicate and connect throughout the day.
